The Path is Illuminated when You are in the Flow ~ Return to Love

I have been on a path for years to figure out what my path or life purpose is exactly. Sometimes the answers come easily and sometimes I feel like I am living in limbo waiting for the answer. If you recall I had mentioned in earlier posts that these topics were given to me during a meditative state, consequently I am writing on the topic given to me. At first this seemed like a hard topic, however, it now seems perfectly timed since I am feeling like I am in the limbo position again! So, if I read this topic title correctly then it is because of the fact I am not in the “flow”…

So, what is flow? How does flow feel? And how do I get into flow?

As always when the student is ready, the teacher appears. As I am pondering this topic, I begin to run across multiple videos and articles on flow! I already knew what being in the flow felt like since I have been there many times. It is feels like I am running on all eight cylinders with everything clicking into place. It is synergistic magic. Everything just flows into place for the project or event I am working on at the time.

How to get into the flow when you are not feeling it is the hard part. Meditation seems to be a key component for most based on my research. Focus is also an important component as is visualization. I like to use visualized focus by narrowing what needs to be done into parts. By narrowing my focus, I don’t get overwhelmed with whole project. The same concept can work in any area of your life. Back when I was playing tennis, I always reminded myself one point at a time is how the game is won. I would concentrate on the point in play refusing to think about the overall score. Once that point was won or lost, I focused on the next one. One step at a time, one day at a time, one post at a time – whatever it is – just keep doing it one at time and moving forward.

When you are on the right path, it should come fairly easy to keep moving forward one step at a time. If it is too challenging to keep moving forward, it might be time to re-evaluate your path. We are each born with natural gifts, talents, and strengths. We are born with these for a reason. These are the gifts, talents, and strengths we need to fulfill our life purpose. It is important that you take the time to recognize what your gifts, talents, and strengths are to be successful in life. While I enjoy playing tennis for fun, I do not have the talent to be a professional tennis player. I have been given other talents in life such as the drive find the connection in life’s mysteries along with the analytical desire to find the data to back it up.

A couple of years ago I discovered the book “Clifton Strength Finders 2.0” and it changed my whole outlook on myself! The cover of the book said it will change the way you look at yourself – and the world around you – forever. After applying what I learned from Strength Finders I would say that is a true and accurate statement. I have used this tool to better manage my staff at work. I used this tool with my youngest son to help him determine his best career path in college. I have used this tool in stewardship ministry at my church. I used this tool to confirm my life’s purpose. Its principles are global and apply to all people in all situations.

Basically, the Gallup group wanted to start a conversation about what is right with people. For some reason, we tend to focus on our weaknesses thinking if we improve them, then we will improve ourselves. This new improved thinking says focus on our strengths and see how much more we can become by using them to the fullest. We have been following a misguided maxim – you can be anything you want to be if you just try hard enough. Unfortunately, this is taking the path of most resistance if what you want to be is not your natural strength. A better revision to the maxim – you cannot be anything you want to be – but you can be a lot more of who you already are. As Gallup says each person has greater potential for success in specific areas, and the key to human development is building on who you already are. I took the Strength Finder 2.0 test back in 2015 and my life has been on a different trajectory ever since!

Through the test I found out my top five are: Connectedness; Maximizer; Strategic; Ideation; Analytical.

Learning about my top five answered so many questions in my life. I am only going to touch on a couple of them here. Connectedness was an affirmation for me! I always wondered why I see how things are related to one another and someone else can’t see what I am talking about. It was frustrating to me to try to communicate this to others. In my project management work, it probably was one of the reasons I was so successful. I could see what person/event was going to affect another event and how to get ahead of it. For my personal life, it answered my constant spiritual quest and thirst to understand how and why we are here. I knew there was a connection to it all – I could feel it!

Being a Maximizer was an eye opener for me. I had often been criticized for not being able to let an idea or project go when everyone else was ready to move on. I always thought of this as a personal flaw that I needed to work on. Now I know it is not a flaw at all, but rather a strength! Good is not good enough for me. If I see great, then good is not enough. I naturally want to take good and make it great! By learning my top five from Strength Finders I understand my God given gifts and use them more effectively. I have noticed when I use my natural talents and strengths that my work just flows … in other words I stay in the flow.

What I have learned is if I am in flow, then I am on the right path for me. Thus, the path is illuminated when you are in the flow!

So, if you are not feeling it then you may not be on your predestined path. I highly recommend the book, Clifton Strength Finders 2.0, to explore the strengths you were born with to illuminate your path.

When you take time to do this and to discover your natural gifts, you are also returning to love. Because to return to love is to return to your inner self. Your inner self already knows about these gifts and has been waiting for you to discover them if you have not already. Always remember you are divinely made. You are born with innate and divine gifts to be used in this lifetime. It is time to discover your gifts, use your gifts, and get in the flow of life.

Sometimes you have to just do it! When I sat down to write this, I was not feeling it, but I had broken down the parts and knew what I wanted to say. As I wrote it began to flow. The synchronicity of everything falling into place came forward as I wrote. Do you have any synchronistic moments you would like to share? Do you have any tips on how you get into flow to work? Please comment below.

Dear Lord of All,
I ask for divine guidance on my path,
I ask for divine light to illuminate my path,
I give thanks for divine love on my path,
Amen

Return to the Awareness of All that You Are

Time Out! It is time for a personal time out! It’s interesting we can often see when someone else needs a time out to settle down, regroup, re-energize, but we often don’t see or better yet pay attention to the signs in our ourselves. If you are not feeling like being the best version of you that you can be, then maybe you need a time out. Take some time to be alone even if only for five minutes.

During this time out, actively choose to reconnect with yourself. Take a few calming breathes to reconnect with your body. Take a minute to feel your heart center open while you breathe to the love within you and around you. Remind yourself that while you have a mind, you are not your mind. You are more. You are made of more than the endless chatter of your mind. We are each born with a body, a mind, feelings, intuition, ego, and natural talents. The secret to returning to the awareness of all that we are is found in the order by which we allow ourselves to be directed.

For most of us we have been following the order: (notice how they fade in order of use)
ego leadThis order does not produce success or fulfillment in life.
In contrast, the most successful order to follow is:intuition leadDuring your time out take a minute to reflect on yourself and pick which aspect out of the six listed above has been leading you or misleading you. If needed, consciously choose again which aspect out of the six to lead you. Return to the awareness of all that you are. You are divinely created with your power rooted in love and light. The ego creates doubt, fear, and brings up your defenses. Let it go. Push the ego aside to get to your true self.

Through all my studies and research, it is our quiet inner voice, which most know as intuition, that is the voice from divine source, spirit, or our higher self. Intuition often uses our feelings to communicate with us. Learn to honor your feelings to follow your intuition. Another way to know intuition from ego is the ego is concerned with itself and comes to you in “I” statements. Intuition is concerned for you and comes to you in “you” statements. For example, while in a meeting someone is going off on something you don’t agree with, your ego might say “I don’t have to listen to this. This idiot doesn’t know what he is talking about”; while your intuition might say “You should let him speak his peace so he will be able to listen to you. You might find some common ground by listening”.

The lives we create for ourselves boil down to our thoughts, our words, and our actions. In fact, each day is a result of our thoughts, our words, and our actions. While our thoughts come from our mind, remember we are more than our minds. Is your mind being led by your ego or your divine guidance of intuition? The first step is to keep our thoughts in line with who we are and who we want to be. Why? Because our thoughts produce our words and our actions. Together thought, word, and action produce our reality. For more insight in to how thoughts, words, and actions create our reality, check out my post, You Create Your Reality.

So back to our time out …

  1. You took a minute to breathe,
  2. You took a minute to open your heart to your breath and to love all around you,
  3. You took a minute to pinpoint which of the six aspects has been leading you;
  4. Now take a minute to adjust your thoughts to be in alignment with who you want to be.
  5. Then take the last minute to voice your commitment to your alignment, give thanks for your decision and physically take a step forward.

Congratulations you just returned to the awareness of all that you are!!!

Ready for more, download my One-Week Challenge. You can do it! Do you have other ideas on ways to return to the true you? I would love to hear them. Would you like more information on the six human aspects we are all born with?  Please comment below.

Dear Lord of All,
Be with me now,
Guide me in my thoughts to choose love, to choose light,
Open my heart to the possibilities that abound,
Open my heart to understanding that which I cannot understand,
Release any judgement, fear, doubt, or anger from within me,
Replace these with seeds of grace, love, & understanding,
Replace my darkness with your light,
Fill me with the awareness of all that I am,
I ask this in gracious gratitude for, so it is,
Amen.

Path of Light is the Way

We are more than we think we are, for we are made in God’s image. We are beings of the light. The issue is we have not accepted our power, our potential. We have been and are being programmed in this world to have the perception this is all there is, this is all we can do, and this is all we can have in this life. But it is not true. We each have within us the power to be all we ever imagined we could be. We are unlimited light beings created to co-create with our God a beautiful world of light and love.

Why do we not see this in ourselves? Because we have been programed since birth with limiting beliefs, rules, laws, religion, and government to be kept in the dark of our true source of power.  That power is our divine light source within us and it is a part of us just like our heart or our brain. Many are beginning to wake up to the realization that we are more than we had thought or were taught, myself included. Throughout my life I have had this inner knowing there was more. I would begin to explore this calling many times only to be distracted by another world event or another religious teaching. Each time I would slip back into the matrix of the world as we know it. But within the past couple of years, I have been able to explore deeper within myself to find the source of power which so many don’t want me to find. It is my divine light source otherwise known as my soul or my spirit or my higher self.

Interestingly enough, my journey within was spurred again without distraction after being harassed and slandered by my employer the Catholic Church. After eight years of dedicated service along with an extremely successful track record in parish management, a sacrificial lamb was needed to appease a small group of loud problem parents from the parish school. Ironically, I had joked it was my crucifixion unbeknownst to me that it really would be. The small crowd of parents didn’t like the changes being implemented to make them accountable for the cost of tuition and the state of the school. They expected the church to pay for their children’s education and to run the school without the need to adhere to any outside regulations. I became the target for their anger at being called out for their actions. They began a smear campaign against me with the diocese demanding action. They lied, they edited video, they wrote letters. Wow – now that I think about it, it reminds me of mainstream media with their one-sided story telling. Long story short, it was determined by the diocese that I was a problem and needed to go away for them to appease the parents and to remain the supreme church authority. After my duties were cut and my name slandered, I quit. I saw first-hand from eight years of church management the control the church uses over its parishioners to keep them in the dark and to keep them in their matrix. Power, greed, abuse – yes it does all exist within the catholic church. Although I believe these problems also exist in other religious denominations, in our government, in our world. I cover a few of these in the posts: Out of the Shadows, Into the Light; Distortion & Illusion; and Light Overcomes Dark.

After my church harassment experience, I became disillusioned with the religious illusion which began my purposeful journey to find my power by following the light that called from within me. I can tell you that after two years of actively following the path of light from within that I am happier than ever with more confidence and freedom to shine my light a little brighter each day. I am so grateful and thankful for all this journey has taught me and continues to teach me. I want to share with you some of my favorites from my journey to date in hopes they may inspire you to follow your path of light within…

Here are a some of my Favorite Books:

Awaken The Spirit Within by Rebecca Rosen –

Love, love, love this book!!! It offers so much insight into the spirit world, the physical world along with connecting religious beliefs.

Conversations with God Book 1 by Neale Donald Walsch –

Spirit guided me to this book just after it was released which was back in 1995. It resonated with me to my core. Then another distraction in life took me down the rabbit hole back into the matrix of our programmed world. However, the insights gained from this book have come back to me time and time again.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra –

Simple quick read with very profound insight into our world and the natural laws or universal laws that govern it.

Channeling the Guides and Angels of Light by Melanie Beckler –

I discovered Melanie first on Pinterest then on YouTube. I subscribe to her blog and her videos. This book contains meditations channeled from the spirit world to guide us in understanding the light and the power within us which connects to source otherwise known as God. Her style is simple, basic, and down to earth.

Everyday A Friday and Think Better, Live Better by Joel Osteen –

These are Christian based books for living your purpose in life. Simple inspiring reads. For some reason I don’t like to view or listen to Joel Osteen, but I love his positive writing. I learned from Joel to bloom where I am planted – no matter where it is!

Imagine Big by Terry Savelle Foy –

Terry is another Christian writer who I discovered a year ago on YouTube. She is so motivating and inspirational to follow the dreams inside you because God put them there for a reason. She gives a lot of success tips and tricks as she goes along.

Here are a Few of my Favorite Videos:  (Sometimes I listen to the videos while driving since I don’t always have the time to sit to watch and listen.  More important to listen than to watch these.)

Crash Course of Spirituality by Mindvalley

47 minute video on thinking outside spiritual and religious paradigms

Dr. Michael Beckwith with Oprah Super Soul Conversation

30 minute podcast on the power within each of us along with spiritual discovery

Exploring the Event by Collective Evolution

48 minute video exploring from a reason and logic stance the spiritual event that so many have been talking about for a few years but has not happened and how looking through a different lens helps bring clarity to the process.

Conscious Deprogramming by Collective Evolution

7 minute video which is the third part to a four-part series, but I think this is the best summary to cover the four parts. I think Collective Evolution is perfect for the skeptic. Sometimes I am a skeptic looking for more facts to help me understand a concept or event. I have found Collective Evolution to be a neutral lens to look at deeper subjects.

It is important to remember you have the do the work. We can’t just “think” it. We have to “be” it, if we want things to change. Lastly, I would like to share with you another favorite of mine from Marianne Williamson’s book “A Return to Love”…

Embody Your Highest Light, Your Highest Truth

As I sit and ponder this divinely inspired topic, I think this is a conscious choice we must actively decide if we want to live it. It is not a one-time deal or decision. It is a day by day active decision much like any habit we are trying to form before we can live it without consciously thinking about it. I still remind myself to stay centered in light and love every day! It seems there is almost always a daily challenge that comes up where I have to remind myself to breathe and consciously choose the light. The good news is it is easier and easier to change my thoughts, actions and vibration to that of the light which is the highest truth I want to live!

The secret to my success is to ask! Ask for help from God, Holy Spirit, Angels. They are all real and all eager to assist and help … but must be asked! This is due to the Right of Free Will. If you need a review on this check out the post Lift the Veil and Guard Your Right of Free Will. Basically, the spirit world may not intervene in the physical world unless given permission. So, say Yes! And Ask!

Your highest light is going to be grounded in love and service for all. Each person will have their own definition of their highest light – or – the way in which they can bring love and help others in the process to evolve. For me, writing these posts are a big part of shining my light in the world. If one person is moved to be a better version of his or herself, then I have helped another by shining my light and love. We all must start somewhere, and this is my start to embody my highest light, my highest truth and to put it out there in the world. It doesn’t have to be big. You just have to start.

I spend time volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) once a month for a few hours. That’s another start. I am happy to cook and clean for my family and friends which is another avenue to shine my light. If I post on social media, I am conscious now to make it positive and to be a reflection of the light and of my truth. If I am going to participate in an event, outing, or show, I pay attention to whether my participation is in line or in vibration with embodying my highest light, my highest truth. I am doing it one day at a time and you can too! One decision at a time to be the person you want to be in this world.

Spend time just pondering this topic for the next few days to see how it reveals itself to you.   What comes up for you?  How do you shine your highest light? Your highest truth? Do you have any secrets on accomplishing this that just might help me or others? I would love to hear about it, please comment below!!! In closing it seems appropriate to have a prayer which includes asking for assistance in living our highest light and truth!

Dear Lord of All,
Open my eyes to see,
Open my ears to hear,
Open my heart to feel,
Give me the courage to shine my light of love in this world today, tomorrow,
and the day after that,
Give me strength to keep going and to not give up on my dreams or myself or on you,
Give me wisdom to know the way,
I ask this today and everyday,
that you walk with me, guiding me, leading me
I ask that you shine your light and your truth ahead of me
that I might know you, to follow you,
I thank you for all that is and ever will be,
I ask all this in gracious gratitude for, so it is,
Amen.

Stay Present, Stay Centered, Stay Connected

Happy 2019!  Are you ready for this year to be the best year yet?  I am!  I have included a free guide sheet for you to make 2019 a year to remember!  Time for new beginnings, new resolutions, and new goals!  Actually, each day is an opportunity for these too!  Let go of the past and focus on today!  I have been living with these words for a while now since this post has been in the back of my mind since before the holidays.  So, over the holidays I tried hard to do just that – to let go of the old, to stay present, to stay centered, and to stay connected – to me.

The holidays are usually filled with a little drama in my family.  I have a big family with six brothers and sisters who all have families of their own now.  I have learned that dysfunction seems to run in all families big or small particularly at the holidays.  In the past, I would feed into the drama and get caught up in reliving old wounds or predicting new ones to come.  I am happy to report I had a stress free, no drama, happy holiday after practicing being mindful, letting go of judgement, and staying centered in love and light.  Now before you roll your eyes, it wasn’t as easy as it sounds.

There were a few triggers that I almost succumbed to, but I was able to remind myself to just be an observer and not a participant.  Believe it or not, it worked!  When I wanted to say something that wasn’t in line with who I wanted to be, I just took a breath instead while listening and observing as though I were in a scene of a play.  Through my spiritual journey, I am learning to step back, observe, and ask why certain things have shown up in my life.  After all, as we discussed in a previous post, we do create our reality.  So, for some reason my life is giving me what I asked for, even if I am not aware I asked for it.  The question then becomes, what am I to learn from what has shown up?

If I want to continue to grow and evolve on my spiritual path to love and light, then I must recognize the lessons along the way.  I am finding it easier to recognize the lessons when I stay centered in love and connected to spirit.  I am also finding it easier to find the blessing in each lesson as I go along.  As I find the blessing, gratitude for my life increases as well.  This has been my focused path for 2018.  While I am happy with my progress, I still have a long way to go and am looking forward to 2019 being a spectacular year on my journey!

During 2018, I really concentrated on becoming mindful in my daily living.  If you haven’t noticed “mindful” is the new buzz word for improving your health, your life, and just about everything else.  To be mindful is to stay in the present moment.  To slow our minds from going over the past or planning the future but rather to be fully conscious of today.  To be conscious or awake enough to pay close attention to the details of what we encounter in the present day we are living.

I had to get honest with myself and I am asking you to do the same.  Are you mindlessly going through life or mindfully going through life?  Most of us, myself included, are so busy with the day-to-day of life that we are living on autopilot which translates to mindless living.  I am suggesting you turn off the autopilot to be fully engaged in every moment of your day.  Manually take a moment to think about each thought, word, or action you take in your day.  At first it is a little awkward since it is new, but you will quickly adapt with practice.  I can guarantee you will begin to see your life in a whole new way!

To help you get started I put together a short guide on beginning to live mindfully.  It is just two pages double-sided.  The first one talks about the benefits and the short 2 step process to get started.  The second page is full of mindful practices for you to explore.  I am freely giving this in service to all, while following my mantra to give what you want, share what you have, and to be the source.  Click to download:

Quick Guide to Being More Mindful

I hope you find the information as useful as I have.  If you like the guide sheet or have more suggestions for ways to become and stay mindful, please share in the comments below.  I would love to hear from you!  Please click the Follow button to stay connected.

Cheers to 2019 being your best year yet!!!

You Are Infinite, You Are A Bridge

*Wrote this in 2018, however, it is a classic message we still need to hear and accept today in 2020!*

Is it the Grinch who stole Christmas or the Grinch who brought Christmas? Let’s take a look at the Grinch from a different perspective…

Remember geometry proofs from high school? I loved them! Yes, I am aware most people did not. However, when you look at proofs, they are just logic linking one step with another until you have an answer. A logical mathematical answer that can be proven such as:

A = B, B = C, therefore A = C

Simple enough to understand. So, why do so many question their innate power as a child of God?

You are created in and of God, God is Infinite, therefore, You Are Infinite

Every religion I know accepts we are made in and of God, the source of All. We have heard there is infinite possibility available to us. This infinite possibility is not something that is available outside of ourselves. It comes from within us. You and I are the ones who call it forth in our own lives. When we operate from love, from the light, then we are in alignment with God our source who is infinite possibilities, blessings, and opportunities. This is our divine potential that is ours to use to do great things here on earth for ourselves and for others. With spiritual guidance, working from love we can do anything. Love is the path of infinite possibility. It is the direct path to realize our potential, to expand our consciousness, and to call forth infinite blessings for all on earth.

As we expand from within to open our heart to the light and to the possibilities, we grow just like the Grinch! That just popped into my mind as I was looking for the words to visualize our expansion of love. It’s perfect given the time of year. Spirit always delivers. The Grinch was closed off to love and light. He lived in the dark, in doubt, in the Illusion that nothing mattered but taking care of himself. He believed he was alone in the world which made him a Grinch. Then the Grinch was shown love. He was shown forgiveness. He was welcomed just as he was. He finally accepted he was worthy of love. Once the Grinch accepted this, his heart opened and grew and grew.

We too must let go of the doubt that keeps us stuck in place. Let go of the illusion we are limited in potential, blessings, and opportunities. Stop looking outside of yourself. Accept the fact you are worthy! You are infinite! You are loved by God more than you know! Allow these truths to grow stronger and brighter within you as the Grinch did when he realized joy did not come from things. The love and joy of Christmas was not something he could take away. If anything, he had made Christmas in Whoville bigger and brighter than ever! Open your heart to claim your destiny as the Grinch did when he opened his heart to the light of the true meaning of Christmas which is love.

As you open to your infinite potential as a child of God, you become a bridge anchoring the divinity of source, the one God, here on earth. As you open your heart, the bridge of light is complete between heaven and earth. The flow of unlimited potential, infinite possibilities, and positive change are available to you through this bridge of love and light. Your whole life can change when you open your heart to the possibilities, when you shift your perspective … just look at the Grinch!

Shift Your Perspective

You could have a big trajectory shift this week … if you are willing to shift your perspective. By consciously choosing to shift your perspective you will also shift your reality!

Did you take a couple of weeks to turn off the outside world through turning off media to see how lighter you could feel? I talked about the two-week challenge to turn off and lighten up in the post “Distortion and Illusion”.

By doing this you change your filter or lens by which you view the world. This in turn is also a change in your perspective. Notice how when you do this, your view of reality changes with you as well. When you look at the world through your own senses and thoughts rather than being programmed by outside media, your outlook will be programmed by you for you. Without the outside distraction, you begin to notice what is important for you in this world. What do you see in this world that you would like to celebrate or to change?

For me personally, when I tune into me without the outside distractions, I can feel the possibilities in my life. I can sense the possibilities for our world when we all stay centered on the light of love recognizing we are all one with one another. I sense not only my potential but all our potential. I notice what is important to me to change in my community to make the world a little better. Don’t let outside media program you to feel down or small or powerless. We have God given potential inside of us that is our divine gift as being made in God’s image.

So, stand up in your own truth that you are a child of God with infinite potential and possibility. No one can take that from you. They can try to “program” you that you have no power, but they can’t take your power for it was divinely given to you at birth. As we remember that we are all one and help one another to stand in power and truth, we each begin to realize our potential as divine light beings.

Let’s work on shifting our perspective from outside of us to inside of us! Make way for your new path by closing out old beliefs that no longer serve to fill you up from the inside. Let go of old relationships or hurt that drain you by setting them free with forgiveness. Close out old projects or clutter from your life to make way for the new to enter your life. Take a minute right now to think about what is no longer serving you in this life. How would your life change if you would let that go?

Today set an intention to let go of one thing that no longer serves you in your life. Whatever bubbled up in your mind when you first asked yourself the question is the first thing that needs your attention. Be willing to shift your perspective, to be open, to let go. Open your heart to all the universe wants to bring into your life … although you made need to make some space for it by letting go of that which no longer serves.

Most of us have been unconsciously creating our world. Imagine what we can do when we become conscious, mindful, and deliberate with our intentions in the creation of our world. By consciously choosing to shift your perspective, you also shift your reality!

We Are All One

All humans are also people and all people have value. We all share some common ground with one another be it the fact we are human, we are male or female, we share a skin color, we share a physical condition, we share a language, we share a religion, we share a town, a state or a country, the list can go on and on. What would happen in our world if we started celebrating our unity as human people instead of our differences as human people?

Every human has a heart.

Every human is uniquely and divinely created in and of God.

Every human has a mind, body, and spirit as well as feelings, talents, and an ego.

Every human needs food and water to live.

Every human has value.

Each of us has something we can learn from the other humans in our life whether they are older or younger; stronger or weaker; outspoken or quiet; full of light or full of dark. When we take the time to find common ground with another we act with mercy and with grace. When we do this, we operate from love rather than from fear.

It is almost as if we have been conditioned unconsciously to note our differences from others. That is how we got here but now we need to take the next step in our evolution. Now we must consciously acknowledge what we have in common with others and what we share with others. When we remember we are all one, we have more compassion for each other because we can see ourselves in another. We are all made of the same essence and come from the same source.

Here is a TED talk by a leading neuroanatomist, Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, regarding the human brain which we all have. She had a stroke that resulted in her gaining divine insight into the human brain first hand. In the talk she describes how the human brain is designed to work for both us the individual and for us the collective all as one. It is a fascinating talk that only takes 20 minutes and will give you a whole new understanding of the human brain and how it works.

From the talk it is clear we are designed to be both all one and yet individuals. This is by divine design. This is God’s design for us to recognize ourselves as all one and yet separate. I think we have the “me” individual perspective down. I think we need to start focusing on the “we as one” perspective. As we begin to use more of our right brain to be part of the “all one” then our world will shift for the benefit of us all.

Here is a short Oprah clip talking to Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor with her take away. Everyone likes Oprah’s simple nuggets but to understand it you will need to watch the TED talk first.

Oprah Life Class with Dr. Taylor

We are all one – by design! So, instead of black versus white; or straight versus gay; or democrat versus republican; or man versus woman; rich versus poor; let’s look at each other’s heart because we all have a heart. We are all human. We are all created equal in God’s eye. We are all in this together. We each have something to offer one another.

Guard Your Right of Free Will

What have you called forth in your life that you are not even aware of? We are living the lives we created for ourselves by our own thoughts, words, and actions as we discussed in the last post. If we want to change our world, then we need to change our thoughts, words, and actions which sounds a lot easier than it is to live, I know. Another important piece to look at in making lasting change in our world is how we use our right of free will. One of the most important universal laws for humans is the Law of Free Will.

As discussed in previous posts, our free will and what we do with it also impacts our world since the Law of Free Will does not act independently. We also have the Law of Cause and Effect (also known as karma). Don’t believe in karma … have you heard of the golden rule? Treat others as you would like to be treated. They are one in the same. Remember the saying what goes around, comes around.

I am going to short cut this for you. We have been given the freedom as humans to do what we want in this world (law of free will) in addition to this freedom comes the caveat that our choices have consequences (law of cause and effect). This was by divine design by God. God does not make things happen or not happen in this world – we do that on our own – consciously or unconsciously.

I think everyone understands when they consciously make a choice but how can someone unconsciously make a choice? I have learned the term “tacit consent” to explain that one. Let’s look at each word separately, tacit as defined means unvoiced, unspoken, silent, implied, understood without being spoken. To consent is defined as to agree, approve or permit. So, tacit consent is when we imply approval to an action or choice by remaining silent. Ahh, here is that silent theme again which allows the darkness to grow in our lives and our world without anyone saying a word or being the wiser.

Now you are thinking well some people might do that but not me, well, think again! We have all fallen prey to this tactic whether we were aware of it or not. Thus, we unconsciously gave silent consent. Now I know you are thinking where? How? When?

We did it by watching a television show. We did it by listening and singing along with the lyrics of music. We did it by listening to the news or reading a book. We did it by going to the movies or playing video games. What? How can that be? I don’t agree with everything I watch, read, or listen to … but I also didn’t voice no that is wrong or turn it off which is how the darkness works to spread it tentacles into our lives. The darkness was shown as a force with tentacles wrapping around earth in the movie A Wrinkle in Time.

After learning about tacit consent and its effects, I started reviewing myself for unconscious choices I had made. I used the watch the tv series “Scandal”. It was a series about politics, secrets, good guys, and bad guys. It was hugely, popular and I was a fan. Although I must admit it had some pretty dark scenes that I was not completely comfortable, but I kept watching. In fact, I think it was the fifth year that it became so dark I started thinking to myself that I am not going to keep watching this if it keeps up. I was happy to see the sixth and final year had cut back on the darkness, so I watched the series to its conclusion with the seventh season. As I silently watched the show for six years, I saw lies, deception, abuse, torture, killings, theft, voting fraud, drugs, terrorism, sex, infidelity, and more I am sure – those are just the highlights that come to mind.

There are so many shows and movies playing these scenes as entertainment for us as we silently watch again and again. The lyrics in some music are so profane that now music is marked as explicit or not. I had to drive my son’s truck to work one day so I thought I will check out the music in his CD player. The CD player holds 5 discs. I listened to one song on disc one and it was so bad I ejected that disc. I did the same with disc two and then with disc three, four, and five. As a parent, I did have the sense to ask my children why they would want to put that kind of trash in their heads by listening to that kind of music. I watched my kids play the video game “Call of Duty” all the time wondering about its effects. On the one hand it is so violent does it promote violence, but on the other hand I thought well if there is a need to defend oneself then they will have learned how … now how warped is that thinking? The internet has brought all types of “information” into our homes such as pornography, bomb making, cyber-bullying, cyber-trafficking, and radical recruitment just to name a few.

As you can see, in every part of our lives we are making conscious and unconscious choices whether we were aware of it or not. These choices were us expressing our free will in society. We were using our thoughts, words, actions and inactions to create our reality. The take away here is to wake up and stay conscious in your thoughts, words, actions and inactions. Guard your right of free will for it is being used by you every day and in every way whether you are aware of it or not and as such you will live the result (effect) of those choices.

I would ask that you really spend some time with this and dive deep. What have you consciously allowed and unconsciously allowed into your mind, body, and environment? What can we do to remain more conscious or mindful in our daily lives? I would love to hear from you!  These posts have been building one on the other so you might want to go back to previous posts if needed.

If you get wet or not is free will!

You Create Your Reality

It is true you are a child of God created in his image sharing in his divinity! You are a powerful God child! You have within you the ability to create your reality! The first step to everything is acceptance. We must accept where we are in life, in this world. We must accept our responsibility in the role we played to bring us to this point in time. The word for that is accountability. We are accountable for our thoughts, words, and actions. Our thoughts, words, and actions join with other’s thoughts, words, and actions to create the collective whole – in other words – the world in which we live. Can we change the world in which we live? The answer is YES!

We can change the world because we create our reality. We can change the world by our thoughts, words and actions – but first we have to change our thoughts, words, and actions to fully align with our vision of the world we want to achieve. What do you envision for the world? Be responsible and accountable for your thoughts, your words, and your actions – in other words – Be the Change You Want to See!

We each need to take an honest look at ourselves. I have recognized that I often go about my day or week mindlessly. It is as if I am on autopilot going through life. When I took time to stop and think about my daily living, I realized I was letting life happen rather than actively steering my life where I wanted it to go. If I am the driver behind the wheel of my life, then I need to pay attention to my driving just as I would taking a trip. I am a pretty good driver. I can say that because when I drive, I make sure to pay attention. Have you noticed the drivers on the road today? Drivers on the road today are distracted by their cell phones or completely unaware as they drive in the left passing lane with a line of cars behind them or overly aggressive car rage that all drivers should move for them and the list goes on. In fact, looking at today’s drivers is an excellent analogy for us to use in looking at how we drive or live our lives. It is an even better analogy when I think of the people, I know, who believe themselves to be great drivers, but I hope to avoid being a passenger in their car due to how they drive. So many of us believe we are winning at this game of life … so then why aren’t we happy and fulfilled? Why are we wanting more? Why are we talking about others? Why are we comparing, criticizing, and complaining? Why do we play the victim? Why do we judge other people, places, and things?

I don’t have the answer. If you have some answers, I would love to hear them. I think it just may be how we are wired since living in duality which was discussed in an earlier post. We have become so polarized with one another choosing judgement over listening for understanding. Yet here we are, and we created it.

So, what if we choose a different way of thinking, speaking, and acting with one another??? For 2018 this has been my choice. I have accepted I am in the driver’s seat of my life and I can chart my own course. I am actively choosing love and light over fear and darkness. Instead of complaining, I am working on saying “how can I help?” Yet, I am also owning my truth and saying “no” when it doesn’t feel right; or I need to honor other areas where I already said “yes.” I am trying to focus on the blessing in each life event rather than the burden. I am working to spread love and light in my world. I am working to be the change I want to see.

To achieve our full potential, we must first accept our full potential. This acceptance includes responsibility and accountability for ourselves and where we are at in our lives. Then we can choose again. We can accept we are divinely created with the power to create our reality. We can accept this as an absolute in our hearts, bodies, and minds. Next, practice it each day by choosing again to pay attention to be the person you want to be in this world. Every drop makes a ripple…
