Circle of Life
I need to write today. So much has happened calling back a flood of memories, unresolved circumstances, and desolation in finding the right path. I haven’t written in a while as I haven’t had the urge or nudge to do so yet I have spent hours pondering our current world’s plight. There is an old saying that births and deaths come in 3’s. I just had my third death, but I don’t think it is stopping at three this time. As I listened to my music, each song brings back a memory for me. Yes, I am still playing songs I purchased through apple music on itunes 😊.
As I ponder life and death today, my cousin just died, and my niece is being induced with her first child. The circle of life in all its glory on display for my family. It is not the first time for years ago a nephew was born at the same time as my grandmother’s death. God giveth and God taketh away but the spirit lives on. I believe this with my whole heart. The creation of life is a miracle as well as each live birth for childbirth can still be dangerous and for some fatal as I know someone whose cousin recently died after giving birth. Death is coming for us all one day regardless of age, race, and status of our health. I see death as the release of the spirit/soul from the body to rejoin with our creator. It is a time of celebration for that soul albeit a time of morning for those loved ones left behind.
One song today that brought the memories flooding back to me was One Hell of an Amen by Brantley Gilbert. The lyrics in this song are for my dear friend and co-worker, Tony Funk. Tony oversaw facilities and maintenance for our parish campus, and I was the office administrator for the parish. It was a very difficult time for us at the parish in late 2015 and early 2016. Our boss, the monsignor was very ill with diabetic complications being in and out of the hospital on several occasions. Being a priest, he had no direct family to care for him and his closest relative, his sister, was two hours away. I was the one to be at the hospital every day he was admitted as well as in the office to keep things running. His diabetic condition worsened to the point where his foot up to his knee had to be amputated to keep the infection from taking over his body. He had vascular complications on top of it all. At one critical point the infection had reached his blood causing a septic infection to take over his body. I was the one to press the hospital staff that something was terribly wrong, and they were not paying attention. I urged his sister to make the trip down as something was seriously wrong. The hospital staff was not listening, and I needed her their as family to insist on action. Together we were able to convince the hospitalist that they were missing something as he was declining fast. It was a blessing that one of the parishioners was a nurse in the lab at the hospital and she mentioned the infection had reached his blood. The hospitalist was surprised to hear this as he was not aware of it. That was the darkest day as it was up to our dear monsignor to fight the infection now that the hospital was treating it correctly, but much time had passed, and a sceptic infection can be deadly. It was time to get down on our knees and pray. I went back to the office to send out a parish wide email that prayers were needed for monsignor was gravely ill.
During this time, Tony comes down with what he thought was the flu or something as he didn’t feel well and just couldn’t shake it. Tony was one of the healthiest people I knew. He made sure to get in his 10,000 steps every day. He ate only health food. He was the kindest man I have ever met. I never heard him say one bad word against another. He never missed a day of work unless he was seriously sick. Tony called in sick as he just couldn’t shake whatever it was he had.
Monsignor responded to the IV antibiotics and was on the road to recovery although he still had the other critical medical issues to deal with. He moved from the hospital to rehab for his leg as well as regular hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatments for healing. Around this time, Tony is still not feeling better, and the doctor decides to admit him to the hospital for tests. After a week of tests, the doctors thought they had a diagnosis, but it was so rare they were not sure. Tony never made it out of the hospital. A week later he died in the hospital before they could begin what they hoped were treatments. I never made it to the hospital to see Tony. To this day that haunts me. I was so busy caring for monsignor that I had my assistant go to the hospital to check on Tony. By the grace of God, we had two priests at our parish so while monsignor was in the hospital the other priest could be present for Tony in the hospital. My assistant phoned me to tell me it was not looking good for Tony. He had the look of death. If you have not been around many dying people, you might not know what that means however if you have then you know exactly what that means. I heard the song “Hell of an Amen” on my way home that night and cried. I sent a card for Tony that I had hoped my assistant or his wife could read to him with the words “if I don’t see you again my friend, then it is one hell of an amen.” I planned to get to his hospital room after leaving monsignor’s hospital room that day then received the call that Tony had passed. I was shaken. Who would have thought that healthy Tony would die two weeks after entering the hospital while I had been in and out of the hospital with monsignor for months!
What could I have done differently? What could I have done better? Why does God always take the good ones early? Tony’s spirit had passed over to the other side. I asked his sprit for forgiveness for not making it there in time. I was so sorry I had thought monsignor was more critical, so I needed to stay with him versus being at the hospital with Tony. The circle of life. So many lessons.
During difficult times, I love this song, Strong Enough by Matthew West. I have played it often to see me through my darkest times. The words are a balm to my soul.
For my cousin, Tina, Blest Are They Blest are you dear cousin for you shall see the face of God!
My cousin dying is another of the only the good die young ones. She went into the hospital a couple of weeks ago with Covid and passed yesterday. I know she is in a better place. Her spirit is free to soar now no longer trapped in the physical vessel we call the human body. Why some recover and some die we do not know for only God knows for thy will be done for the highest good of all. On eagle’s wings, Tina, may you fly to God for now you can see all of life’s weavings …
LIFE’S WEAVING
[Author Uknown]
My life is but a weaving
between my God and me;
I may not choose the colors,
He knows what they should be;
For He can view the pattern
Upon the upper side,
While I can see it only
On this, the under side.
Sometimes He weaveth sorrow,
Which seemeth strange to me;
But I will trust His judgment;
And work on faithfully;
‘Tis he who fills the shuttle,
He knows just what is best;
So I shall weave in earnest
And leave with Him the rest.
At last, when life is ended,
With Him I shall abide,
Then I may view the pattern
Upon the upper side;
Then I shall know the reason
Why pain with joy entwined,
Was woven in the fabric
Of life that God designed.
May we all remember our loved ones who have passed on with hearts full of love and memories that bring smiles to our faces as we celebrate their reunion with the Creator, our Lord! May we welcome our new loved ones (as I receive the message my niece is in full labor now) with joy in our hearts, hope and dreams for their future as we celebrate the children of God they are! May we continue our journey, our soul’s path in this lifetime to learn the lessons we are to learn in our own circle of life! May God continue to bless us, keep us, guide us, and lead us. Amen!
Meditation and prayer are the tonic for these unprecedented times! Please take time to spend in quiet solitude to commune with the Holy Spirit. Ask for what you seek. Ask for discernment. Give thanks. Keep your heart pure in light, in love, and in service to all. Namaste.
A little FYI that not many know … the funeral mass in Catholicism is celebrated with white vestments and cloths to symbolize the joyful event of the soul leaving the body to be reunited with Christ.
Harvest Time
This week is the October full moon on 10-01-2020. A universal number 6 for this full moon. A big month is predicted by astrology, numerology, and angelic guidance. If your living in the US, you are already feeling it heating up! After listening to my favorite astrologer, Tania Gabrielle, I am feeling more calm about the upcoming month. Aggression and assertiveness are the two opposing aspects of Mars which is retrograde until November 13, 2020. Currently, here in the US there is a lot of aggression and assertiveness coming out to be sure with it apparently expected to continue through the election given the retrograde. Mother earth is reflecting the hot energy being released through forest fires and storms. Breathe.
The number 6 is about birthing, nurturing. The number 1 is about new beginnings. The number 2 is about balance, harmony. The number 0 is about journey, secrets from within. So, this October is going to be about us taking time to breathe and to release. We are busy birthing the new earth and it looks like we will be in labor for all of October! We will need to find balance this month and focus on harmony for our planet. As we know better, we hopefully act better. As individuals, as well as the collective.
During any retrograde is it important to go within ourselves. With Mars it is the time to discover the truth; the truth about ourselves; the truth about our world. Secrets may be revealed and brought into the light during this time. Again, this is a time for us to breathe and to release that which no longer serves us as individuals and as the collective. We need to remember to not let the frustration or anger we may feel turn into aggression towards others or ourselves. Aggression hurts others. Focus, on being assertive rather than aggressive. It is okay to feel confident in your beliefs and to live your truth for only you know your path. You can walk that path with integrity, asserting what is right for you, without hurting another, lashing out at another, or condemning another.
A good example for me is a recent Facebook exchange I had with a distant friend regarding politics. She was asking for someone on the other side of her beliefs to explain why they felt they way they do. Innocently, I volunteered to share my beliefs. I was incredibly careful to explain my beliefs as mine so as not to cause harm to another. I was met with aggression on the other side. After a few exchanges following the same scenario, I realized there was no point to continue the attempted conversation since no constructive conversation could be had with the underlying aggression against my beliefs on the other side. I will say now as I said then, it is only through civil discourse can we hope to meet on common ground. We must let the aggression go and allow each to live their truth. I do not have to agree with you, and you do not have to agree with me. It is okay to assert (state a fact confidently) our individual beliefs. It is not okay to become aggressive (readiness to attack; confront) against another for their truth. We should always respect one another as human beings but most importantly as divine souls walking their own paths.
I had to let go of that exchange and not let the frustration turn into aggression. I felt I was trying to have a high-level conversation with low level thinkers. But who am I to say what is high level or low level? I do truly wish we could have open, honest discussions about the issues plaguing society because I do not see how we can evolve past them without this discourse to find solutions. We need to break free of this societal conditioning we are trapped within. Ugh, I am reminded about the importance of breathing and releasing this month!
We are each connected to the collective mind or collective consciousness of our planet. Many are facing challenges, fear, frustration, anger, and sadness with this being reflected in the collective mind. It is so easy to tap into that energy, but it does not serve us holistically or spiritually. It is important to remember we do not have to spiral with that energy because we can choose again. With each choice we can choose fear or love, ego or spirit. I am working on staying mindful and present through meditation, prayer, and uplifting entertainment. I am not ignoring the plight of my world but feel my best gift or solution is sending love, light, peace, healing, and understanding through my prayers and meditations. I read once that 1% of a population holding the same intention through meditation or prayer can affect positive physical change. This is known as the 1% Effect. We are basically at 7.8 billion people on planet earth which means we need 78,000,000 people sending healing love into our world.
While we cannot see it, every kind word and/or kind deed creates a ripple effect through the collective. What seems meaningless is actually very meaningful to the collective. Every act counts. Every word counts. Every small step counts. Continue to take these small steps on your path and it will lead you to your master path for this lifetime.
So, for this month of October let us be mindful of what we are harvesting. Resist the urge to react to what is happening on the outside. Remember to go within to find your own truth – that which resonates with your soul – you will know it because you will feel it. As new truths present themselves, be open to releasing old beliefs which may no longer serve. Remember to allow each to walk his/her path. As we humans work on birthing new earth so does mother earth work on birthing her new truths. She is evolving too just as she has throughout her history. Maybe Atlantis will rise – just kidding but I would not be surprised if there are some major shifts on our planet in time.

There are no coincidences in life. All is happening as it should. Help is always available, simply ask Spirit. Listen to that voice within. That is your soul voice, your internal guidance system. All is well.

I Can Breathe
I can breathe.
I am thankful for my life.
I am the master of my life.
It is up to me to be all I can be.
The power comes from within me for I am made in and of God.
Father, son or daughter, and the holy spirit –
together we three make the divine trinity.
I only need to believe to be.
What I think I become.
Challenges, diversity, setbacks all help me to refine who and what I want to be.
When I can see the goodness in my life and give thanks every day for every blessing in my life, my power grows to create more blessings as I see more & more blessings.
God is good. Life is good.
Freedom and prosperity are mine.
I see a world based in love, peace & understanding that we are all one.
We empower ourselves to be free, to love & care for one another.
As we are all one in the body of Christ.
Me and My Shadow
Did you know we all have a shadow? I didn’t. I have heard of shadow work but did not know that everyone has a shadow side. In fact, to fully realize your potential it is necessary to explore your shadow side. Hmm. This has been crossing my path for a reason as there are no coincidences. As I was exploring today, I ran across something I wrote a couple of months ago. I don’t know if you remember me saying I have been feeling the call to poetry as I shared in my post, Shine Your Light, from January. It seems now that I reread it, even my writing is suggesting a shadow … what do you think?
I and Me
We have been on our own now for a while, I and me.
We have been doing fine for awhile now, I and me.
Even though we are married it’s really just, I and me.
I’m learning to grow now, I and me.
I’m coming into my own now, I and me.
Soon you will know me, I and me.
You Are the Light
This is going to be a great week to get in touch with yourself through light. To come to know and see your internal light. First, is a big full moon shining spiritual energy on June 17th. Second, the summer “sun” solstice lights up on June 21st. I strongly encourage you to walk into the waterfall of light this week!
Let’s start with the full moon on June 17th. Apparently, this is a big one – there is going to be a very rare opening of light and divine activation with this full moon within our galaxy. These activations will call to our souls to awaken and to ascend to higher levels of consciousness. During this time, we become more enlightened and awaken to past pains or traumas we need to release to the light. I believe most people won’t notice or realize this enlightenment. Although they will have feelings bubble to the surface. The enlightenment comes when the feelings that bubble to the surface are looked at with new perspectives.
For example, I made a personal discovery this week in my relationships with my mother and sisters as it bubbled up this week a few different times. For some reason these relationships were many times challenging; meaning while I wanted a close relationship and at times it felt like a close relationship, many times it would be revealed to me later that is was not the close relationship I had thought. An easier analogy to understand would be Cinderella’s stepmother and her sisters. Cinderella was always trying to fit in, always eager to help, but just never made the final cut like going to the ball with the three of them. My mother always considers my other two sisters first before me. I grew up with a closer relationship to my father than my mother probably for this reason. Don’t get me wrong I love my mother and sisters, but we are just different on how we approach life. When I look back now, I see how my mother spent time with her two young daughters doing mother and daughter things like dance classes, scouts, shopping, etc. In our family of seven kids, I was number 5 while my other two sisters were number 2 and 3. I am thinking by the time number 5 came along wanting to do those things, my mother had done those things and was not interested. I didn’t get to take dance lessons. Funny enough, out of the three, I was the one singing and dancing around the house all the time. In college, I joined a singing and dancing group and felt my spirit come alive on the stage. I finally felt free to be me once I was living on my own.
Another thought bubble up to the surface this week that maybe my mother simply didn’t enjoy my personality like she did my sisters. Okay, I thought. I don’t like everybody, and I believe not everyone has to like me. I like me. So, it is okay if she doesn’t like me as much as she likes the others. I was always just a better fit with my dad than with my mom. Our personalities were more alike. We thought more alike. So, I am okay with this. I don’t have to be best friends with my mother or my sisters. I don’t have to keep trying to fit in. They call me when I can do something for them, but they don’t really call to just catch up. They want my help but on their terms. Many times, it feels like a one-way relationship. But maybe I am the one who must let it be and practice acceptance. I don’t have to be upset or bothered that once again mom went on and on about my sisters. I need to actively choose the voice of divine light over the voice of ego. I must choose to actively bless the situation and set it free into the light. And what’s more, I can be thankful. I am thankful because the events of the past have made me into the person I am today. I am happy with the person I am today. I like me. I am worthy. I am enough. (check out my last post if you missed it on being worthy and enough!)
This all bubbled up for me this week. I would have been totally unaware of it and how to look at it if I had not been tuned into Melanie Beckler and Tania Gabrielle, both of whom I like to follow on YouTube. However, both mentioned in their videos this week that the full moon energies gearing up were strong and going to bring up unresolved issues for us to look at again in the light. I was awakened to this unresolved issue. I feel I now have peace since looking at it in new light. Now I release it into the light to go forth more enlightened on my path.
So, be on the lookout for what bubbles up for you this week. Be open to look at it with new eyes. Be open to see all sides, to find a compromise, to find peace, and to release it to the light. In other words, be open to lose some of that baggage we all carry around to live lighter, to live happier.
Next, we have the Summer Solstice on June 21st in the northern hemisphere. The summer solstice is about forward movement and moving into the light. The sun will shine for the longest day of the year which also means the shortest night of the year. During the summer solstice the sun is at its highest point in the sky for the year. For more information along with some creative solstice celebrations, check out this post by Melanie Beckler:
Solstice Meaning and Celebrations
With the high vibrational spiritual energies surrounding both the full moon and the summer solstice, make sure to spend some time enjoying the sun and moon this week!
When I look at nature it is easy for me to see God’s hand in life. I look with wonder at the sky. A big fluffy cloud exudes such power. The sun’s rays provide warmth and light. The vastness of the number of stars in the sky astounds me. The playfulness of the moon changing size and locations makes me smirk as I look to find it in the sky. Mother nature is our mother earth. Gaia is the mother goddess who presided over earth according to Greek mythology. Many refer to Gaia as mother earth too. Our earth is about 4.54 billion years old. She has been around longer than we have. She has seen much more than we have. Thus, she is older and wiser. Spend some time enjoying mother nature this week to get back in touch with your own divine nature.
Make a point to notice the light coming from the sun, the light coming from the moon, the light shining from the stars this week. This light shines from universal source, our God. Remember you are made in the image of God. Light also shines forth from you. You come from light. You are light. Shine your light with a smile, some loving words, a helping hand, a hug or kiss, an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, a prayer of blessing for another. For you are the light!
I would love to hear from you. What do you think about this post? Has anything bubbled up for you? How do you like to enjoy mother nature? How do you shine your light in this world?
You Are Loved
You are greatly loved by the universe. You are greatly loved by God who is source of all. You are greatly loved by the angelic realms, spirit guides, ascended masters, and deceased loved ones. You are loved! Don’t forget it! You are worthy of being here and you have a gift only you can give the world. Don’t ever give up on you and the wonderful things you can do!
When you are feeling down, depressed or lonely it is because you have become disconnected from divine source. It is easy to do in the busyness of life or when looking at our chaotic world. However, it is just as easy to reconnect for within you is your own divine source known as your spirit. When you are feeling down, go within to reconnect and recharge. When you are feeling up, go outside of yourself to share your energy of light and love with others.
You are loved! You are worthy! You are enough just as you are! You were wonderfully made in God’s own image. You have the power within you to create the life of your dreams. Believe in yourself, ask, and it shall be given.
Don’t despair another day. Ask for help. Ask for guidance. Ask for the light to be given you. Ask for peace. Ask and then believe it is so. Give thanks and leave the when and the how to God.
Once you have asked with sincere intention, then rest. Allow the mind and body to rest, while your spirit goes to work. Give your request to the Christ within you and let it go. Now comes the part where you must have faith for it shall be done in divine right timing. That which you seek may come in many forms so be on the lookout for people, places, and events that cross your path for you are not alone on this journey.
Still not sure you are enough, watch this video to change your life…
I’m Not Enough Disease
Since I have accepted I am worthy, my life has changed to be on a higher trajectory with regular study, practice, and meditation. I have faith that when I ask, I will receive. I look for the answers in the unexpected. I am given answers through coincidences and synchronicities. Life has become magical. However, I am now looking for the magical. I am conscious to the possibilities. I am mindfully engaging in my daily life to look for the clues or to follow my intuition when prompted.
As I spend time in meditation, I can feel the love of the universe flow through me. I receive encouragement and validation to continue to seek my highest path. Guidance is available to me anytime I ask. My job is to stay open in how it appears. My two hurdles are: control and patience. I have to let go of controlling how anything happens. I have to have patience that in divine right timing all will be done in perfect grace.
Have you discovered any hurdles on your path that you need to resolve? How do you know you are loved by the universe? Do you accept you are worthy to be here? Please share in the comments below …
Allow Love, Allow Light, Allow Blessings
All things happen in divine right timing … that’s Synchronicity! I have been experiencing a lot of synchronicity lately. A meaningful coincidence is known as synchronicity and has been discussed in both scientific and spiritual worlds. Many also know this as being in synch with your life. To be in synch everything just seems to flow and come along in divine right timing for your highest good. I am starting this post reviewing synchronicity for it was through this divine timing that certain people, books, and information have crossed my path to give me the answer for this post’s focus. I was given the title and my life path was to lead me to the answer.
I believe I have found the answer to be in finding balance between giving and receiving. We each have a physical heart, but we also have a spiritual heart. Our soul resides in our spiritual heart also known as our higher heart. Our higher heart houses our higher self. To allow our higher heart to awaken we must find balance between giving and receiving in our lives. We must have an open higher heart to receive the blessings in our lives.
For most people it is easier to give than to receive, at least it is for me. I have been working on being a gracious receiver of life’s blessings lately. I am learning to accept the beauty of life’s gifts with great appreciation along with many verbal thanks and more thanks. I am learning to not feel guilty that I am not deserving enough, or I am not in need. I am learning to allow others to do for me. For each should have the opportunity to serve and if I don’t allow someone to serve me, then how am I to expect others to allow me to serve them. Now you know I am not talking about the takers in life because we each know some people who always take and never give. I am talking about the givers in life. If you are a giver, it is important for you to learn to receive – joyfully!!!
You know how it feels to give the perfect gift and to watch the joy, to feel the appreciation, and to see the results of giving that perfect gift? Well, that is how the universe feels too! Just like you it wants to give the perfect gift. Just like you it wants to witness the joy that gift brings. Just like you it is disappointed if the gift is not appreciated. Just like you it will stop giving if its gifts do not bring joy and thanksgiving.
Giving is choosing to love and choosing light;
Receiving is allowing love, allowing light and allowing blessings into your life.
Let’s all chose to light up with love and allow blessings by connecting to divine source, God of All, through opening our higher heart in giving and receiving. None of us are alone on our life path. Light and love are always available to us – we just need to remember to ask. You see the outer world tries to convince us we are separate from God; separate from each other through race, religion, sex; separate from other cultures and countries. Be we are not separate for we all have a higher heart which is a direct connection to the divine source of ourselves and of God. We are all one. All are connected. When we approach life from love, we can see our connectedness.
As we connect with one another, we either give or receive. We each need to find balance in this exchange. Sometimes that means saying “no” and sometimes that means saying “yes.” If you not sure which one you should be saying, then stop and ask yourself, ask you higher heart. Which answer truly honors your higher self? You will know the answer by how you feel. A light feeling means yes, and a heavy feeling means no. Love yourself enough to be true to yourself, true to your feelings. It is okay to say no, and it is okay to say yes – as long as – the answer brings you a feeling of being uplifted not weighed down.
My sister is a perfect example of needing to find balance. She always says yes to whatever is asked of her to do regardless of how it affects her life. She also typically says no to anyone offering to help her. This type of constant giving to others leaves her drained and unable to be open to receiving. When you constantly say no to others offers to help, then they stop offering. Likewise, the universe will stop offering.
My challenge to her and to you if this sounds familiar, is to say yes to the next person who offers you assistance of any type. That person has crossed your path at that time for a purpose! Say yes and allow the universe to bring you that purpose. Allow that purpose and its blessings into your life! Be open to choose and to allow. Once you choose blessings over burdens, you will have miracle follow miracle in your life … once you allow it into your life.
The one big caveat … you must relinquish control! You must not resist the universe by trying to control how another helps you. It is okay to let go and let it happen. I see this often too. Someone will say yes to my help and then want to tell me how to do it for them. Let go already! I learned this working as a manager. An employee cannot spread their wings and fly if I keep them on a string or in a cage. In many cases, I learned new ways of doing things by allowing others to help me and allowing them to do it their way.
How do I get there? Spirit reminds me that practice makes perfect! I need to practice every day to open my heart. To approach life from an open heart is to choose to operate or give from love and light while also allowing love and light to flow back and to be received into my heart. I have been practicing an open-heart meditation lately that has really been helping me to shift into a higher life path. So, I would like to share it with you:
Open Heart Meditation (practice for 5 – 10 minutes each day)
Get comfortable in a spot with no distractions. Close your eyes. With sincere intention pray or say the following aloud or silently: Archangel Michael be with me now. Protect me and guide me to open my heart to connect with you. Then picture in your imagination your heart with a door or a window that opens to green pastures. Keep repeating with sincere intention while seeing your heart open to the green fields in your minds eye. Stay open to allow the blessings to come in. When you feel the slightest ache in your heart you know your heart is opening. I suggest keep practicing until the feeling of the open heart becomes easier and easier for you to achieve with your intention.
Do you have any ideas on giving and receiving? Do you have any ideas on maintaining balance in this area of your life? Please share below so we can all help one another …
Christ Level Awareness from Within
Who was Jesus? Whether you are religious or not you have most likely heard the name Jesus. Who and what exactly Jesus was has been greatly debated for thousands of years. From my theological teachings, Jesus is before death and Christ is after death. Christ is the risen from the dead Jesus. Some say he was a great prophet. Some say he was the messiah. Some say he is the son of God. Some say he is an ascended master. Some say he is a great teacher. Some say he is just another human being. I say he is all those things. I also say that we have the same Christ power within each of us.
Jesus understood fully the divine power he held within his physical being. He was made in and of God just like you and me. We are all children of God. We each have God power within us. The difference is we do not accept it, believe it or use it as Jesus did in his lifetime. He did come to teach us the good news of God or Divine Source. His teachings have been compiled in the bible. He is not the only teacher of this good news. Many other teachers and philosophers have also shared “the secret” with us but for some reason not everyone is drawn to understanding how life works.
As I travel this path to deeper understanding, another synchronicity occurred as I came across the teachings of Florence Shinn. Florence Shinn was an author and teacher of metaphysics in the 1920’s. She wrote a book “The Game of Life and How to Play It.” I bought the book and read it. What a treasure trove of teachings it was! Most of the concepts were not new but she provided deeper understanding of these concepts through biblical teachings. She describes the bible as a metaphysical manual that when used properly will provide you with all the tools to a happy and successful life.
In 1920 she is sharing the same secrets as many others through the ages have shared including contemporary authors of “The Secret”; “Law of Attraction with Abraham Hicks”; “Conversations with God” and I could go on. The teachings are available for us all to have joyful, prosperous, and healthy lives. The question for me is why isn’t everyone interested in following these teachings?
I think the answer is most people continue to live in distortion and illusion. If you are wondering what I mean by that check out my earlier posts: Out of the Shadows, Into the Light; Distortion and Illusion; and Rest in the Divine Not in the Illusion. To live better lives, we must wake up to the fact we have to consciously partake in the creation of our lives. Stop living mindlessly in our days. Pay attention to our thoughts, our words, and our actions. Pay attention to what we give our focus to because that is what we are calling into our lives be it positive or negative.
I see the headlines flash on politics as I turn on my computer or my television and I could so easily lose myself in the drama of politics. I am mindful now not to give my energy or focus to the political stage designed to draw me in and take my energy from me. I am not sure what is fake news or real news anymore. In my community everyone is accepting of one another. I don’t feel the polarization portrayed in the news, but they want me too. I am learning to say no thank you to that life experience instead choosing joy, peace, and prosperity.
How do I choose differently? I choose differently by going within and connecting to my divine source. We each have this inner divine source and it goes by many names: soul; higher being; inner being; spirit; and the superconscious. Call it whatever you would like, just know that this is your direct communication link with God, Lord of All, Infinite Intelligence, or Source of All. Christ was fully aware of his direct link to God through his inner spirit.
Christ level awareness is knowing we are all powerful when we are in alignment with our divine spirit. This divine spirit lives within us. Divine spirit communicates to us through inspiration, feelings, and hunches. If we improve our communication skills with our divine spirit, then we will improve our lives. I have been working on developing my skills in this area through meditation, yoga, reading, journaling, prayer, and opening my psychic abilities. These are good self-development practices if you are interested in growing your communication with the divine. There is a wealth of information on the internet, in the library, and of course YouTube. What is right for you is what feels good to you. I get goose bumps when I come across certain teachings, then I know from within for this to be true for me. Has something given you goosebumps and resonated as true from within you? Please share in the comments below.
The celebration of Easter Sunday is coming up. Easter is the celebration of new life for Jesus died but then Christ rose from the dead to new life. The season of spring is a celebration of new life in nature all around us. We, too, can live anew by choosing to live as ONE with our inner divine spirit.
In closing here is an ancient proverb that gave me goosebumps…
According to an old Hindu legend…there was once a time when all human beings were gods, but they so abused their divinity that Brahma, the chief god, decided to take it away from them and hide it where it could never be found.
Where to hide their divinity was the question. So, Brahma called a council of the gods to help him decide. “Let’s bury it deep in the earth,” said the gods. But Brahma answered, “No, that will not do because humans will dig into the earth and find it.” Then the gods said, “Let’s sink it in the deepest ocean.” But Brahma said, “No, not there, for they will learn to dive into the ocean and will find it.” Then the gods said, “Let’s take it to the top of the highest mountain and hide it there.” But once again Brahma replied, “No, that will not do either, because they will eventually climb every mountain and once again take up their divinity.” Then the gods gave up and said, “We do not know where to hide it, because it seems that there is no place on earth or in the sea that human beings will not eventually reach.”
Brahma thought for a long time and then said, “Here is what we will do. We will hide their divinity deep in the center of their own being, for humans will never think to look for it there.”
All the gods agreed that this was the perfect hiding place, and the deed was done. And since that time humans have been going up and down the earth, digging, diving, climbing, and exploring–searching for something already within themselves.

The Path is Illuminated when You are in the Flow ~ Return to Love
I have been on a path for years to figure out what my path or life purpose is exactly. Sometimes the answers come easily and sometimes I feel like I am living in limbo waiting for the answer. If you recall I had mentioned in earlier posts that these topics were given to me during a meditative state, consequently I am writing on the topic given to me. At first this seemed like a hard topic, however, it now seems perfectly timed since I am feeling like I am in the limbo position again! So, if I read this topic title correctly then it is because of the fact I am not in the “flow”…
So, what is flow? How does flow feel? And how do I get into flow?
As always when the student is ready, the teacher appears. As I am pondering this topic, I begin to run across multiple videos and articles on flow! I already knew what being in the flow felt like since I have been there many times. It is feels like I am running on all eight cylinders with everything clicking into place. It is synergistic magic. Everything just flows into place for the project or event I am working on at the time.
How to get into the flow when you are not feeling it is the hard part. Meditation seems to be a key component for most based on my research. Focus is also an important component as is visualization. I like to use visualized focus by narrowing what needs to be done into parts. By narrowing my focus, I don’t get overwhelmed with whole project. The same concept can work in any area of your life. Back when I was playing tennis, I always reminded myself one point at a time is how the game is won. I would concentrate on the point in play refusing to think about the overall score. Once that point was won or lost, I focused on the next one. One step at a time, one day at a time, one post at a time – whatever it is – just keep doing it one at time and moving forward.
When you are on the right path, it should come fairly easy to keep moving forward one step at a time. If it is too challenging to keep moving forward, it might be time to re-evaluate your path. We are each born with natural gifts, talents, and strengths. We are born with these for a reason. These are the gifts, talents, and strengths we need to fulfill our life purpose. It is important that you take the time to recognize what your gifts, talents, and strengths are to be successful in life. While I enjoy playing tennis for fun, I do not have the talent to be a professional tennis player. I have been given other talents in life such as the drive find the connection in life’s mysteries along with the analytical desire to find the data to back it up.
A couple of years ago I discovered the book “Clifton Strength Finders 2.0” and it changed my whole outlook on myself! The cover of the book said it will change the way you look at yourself – and the world around you – forever. After applying what I learned from Strength Finders I would say that is a true and accurate statement. I have used this tool to better manage my staff at work. I used this tool with my youngest son to help him determine his best career path in college. I have used this tool in stewardship ministry at my church. I used this tool to confirm my life’s purpose. Its principles are global and apply to all people in all situations.
Basically, the Gallup group wanted to start a conversation about what is right with people. For some reason, we tend to focus on our weaknesses thinking if we improve them, then we will improve ourselves. This new improved thinking says focus on our strengths and see how much more we can become by using them to the fullest. We have been following a misguided maxim – you can be anything you want to be if you just try hard enough. Unfortunately, this is taking the path of most resistance if what you want to be is not your natural strength. A better revision to the maxim – you cannot be anything you want to be – but you can be a lot more of who you already are. As Gallup says each person has greater potential for success in specific areas, and the key to human development is building on who you already are. I took the Strength Finder 2.0 test back in 2015 and my life has been on a different trajectory ever since!
Through the test I found out my top five are: Connectedness; Maximizer; Strategic; Ideation; Analytical.
Learning about my top five answered so many questions in my life. I am only going to touch on a couple of them here. Connectedness was an affirmation for me! I always wondered why I see how things are related to one another and someone else can’t see what I am talking about. It was frustrating to me to try to communicate this to others. In my project management work, it probably was one of the reasons I was so successful. I could see what person/event was going to affect another event and how to get ahead of it. For my personal life, it answered my constant spiritual quest and thirst to understand how and why we are here. I knew there was a connection to it all – I could feel it!
Being a Maximizer was an eye opener for me. I had often been criticized for not being able to let an idea or project go when everyone else was ready to move on. I always thought of this as a personal flaw that I needed to work on. Now I know it is not a flaw at all, but rather a strength! Good is not good enough for me. If I see great, then good is not enough. I naturally want to take good and make it great! By learning my top five from Strength Finders I understand my God given gifts and use them more effectively. I have noticed when I use my natural talents and strengths that my work just flows … in other words I stay in the flow.
What I have learned is if I am in flow, then I am on the right path for me. Thus, the path is illuminated when you are in the flow!
So, if you are not feeling it then you may not be on your predestined path. I highly recommend the book, Clifton Strength Finders 2.0, to explore the strengths you were born with to illuminate your path.
When you take time to do this and to discover your natural gifts, you are also returning to love. Because to return to love is to return to your inner self. Your inner self already knows about these gifts and has been waiting for you to discover them if you have not already. Always remember you are divinely made. You are born with innate and divine gifts to be used in this lifetime. It is time to discover your gifts, use your gifts, and get in the flow of life.
Sometimes you have to just do it! When I sat down to write this, I was not feeling it, but I had broken down the parts and knew what I wanted to say. As I wrote it began to flow. The synchronicity of everything falling into place came forward as I wrote. Do you have any synchronistic moments you would like to share? Do you have any tips on how you get into flow to work? Please comment below.
Dear Lord of All,
I ask for divine guidance on my path,
I ask for divine light to illuminate my path,
I give thanks for divine love on my path,
Amen
